Investing in the communities we serve

We consider the interests of P&G and the needs of the communities we serve to be one and the same. To demonstrate this commitment, we invest in charitable organizations around the world.

We focus our social responsibility efforts where we can uniquely add value and generate a positive impact. Specifically, P&G improves communities with our people and superior brands where they add value for those who need them most. For example, we provide everyday essentials like Charmin, Mr. Clean and Tide to families who can't afford them or who've been displaced by disasters. We also support hygiene education and everyday healthy behaviors through programs offering Always, Crest, Oral-B, Pampers and Safeguard to help prevent illness and improve confidence for people in need.

There may be other needs and concerns in communities where we operate around the world. However, with limited resources, we are focused on the areas above. By taking advantage of our strengths, we can maximize the impact of our resources.

P&G will comply with the laws and regulations governing corporate contributions in the country in which the contribution originates (these laws may vary by country).*

General Product Donations

Every year, P&G facilities receive donation requests for products and other items from consumers, external organizations, P&G employees, customers, teachers, students and other groups all over the world. While the global scope of our business elicits numerous requests for assistance, we are unable to take part in all the opportunities brought to our attention.

There is no fair way to select some groups for assistance without denying others that are equally deserving. P&G has decided to work through pre-identified, capable partner organizations that have the facilities, scale, and training required to distribute significant quantities of donated product to nonprofit affiliated agencies within each country.

In the U.S., the primary organization we have chosen to work with is Feeding America. Feeding America has more than 200 member free stores serving all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. They are able to distribute P&G products through a nationwide network of approximately 61,000 assistance agencies, pantries, emergency shelters, senior care facilities, after-school programs, and mobile pantries. In other parts of the world, we work with local partners in our P&G communities to donate available product.

Military Donations

P&G has an ongoing partnership with the USO (United Service Organizations Inc.), a nonprofit organization that provides programs and services for United States military personnel and their families, to receive the company’s military-related donations.
